La Cruz is a district of the La Cruz county, in the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica. It is located in the northwest of the country, near the border with Nicaragua. La Cruz has an area of 345.5 km² and an elevation of 255 m above sea level and a population of 9125 inhabitants.

La Cruz is located 50 km north of Liberia City, the head town of Guanacaste and 267 km from San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica.

Nowadays La Cruz has became a tourism attraction because of it natural resources like beaches, mountains and volcanoes, wildlife and also the human quality of its inhabitants that welcome both national and foreign visitors.
